Avoid Fines and Keep Your Home Looking Great!

Code Enforcement fines typically range from $25-$100 depending on the offense. Use the reminders below to make sure you’re always in compliance, so you can save money and keep your home and neighborhood looking great at the same time!

o Keep grass and/or weeds below a height of 12 inches - $50 fine
o Place your rollout garbage and recycling containers at curb the day prior to collection and remove them by midnight of your collection day - $50 fine for leaving containers curbside
  •  If you are a customer with a disability or other physical limitation that does not permit you to roll the cart to the curb, call 704.336.7600 to discuss special arrangements for collection
o  Do not store your rollout containers in front of your residence - $25 fine
o  Call 311 to schedule pickup for eligible bulky items
  • Bulky items can be placed curbside the day before the scheduled collection date and must be properly prepared
  • $50 fine for placing items curbside before scheduled pickup
o  Do not let trash/junk accumulate in your yard - $50 fine
o  Place yard waste curbside the day before your scheduled collection day in small neat piles.
  • Leaves must be in cans or clear untied bags
  • $50 fine for placing items curbside before scheduled pickup or not being properly prepared
o  Do not park any vehicles on your front lawn - $25 fine
